Memory Track - An MBTA-Centered Online Journal
Brief / Prompt
in this project, you will design an intervention, supported by or relying on a screen-based deliverable (watch, phone, touchscreen, XR) that improves the user experience of boston’s t. our goal is to form a personal connection to the subject matter: boston’s metro.
Project Overview
the problem: travelers who visit do not really have an enhanced experience of boston through the T, even though it is a central part of the city.
the solution: memory track was designed to connect the travel experience with all the places and activities that visitors go to and do in boston. it aims to make it easy for visitors to revisit these experiences.
- when a traveler purchases an mbta ticket, memory track allows them to scan their ticket at kiosks in stations to read about more history/culture of the station while they wait.
- the ticket will keep track of where the ticket has been used, keeping a log of the traveler’s journeys throughout boston. throughout their journey, the traveler can upload photos, videos, and notes to memory track to be logged.
- when the traveler is home, they can scan their ticket/enter a number for them to revisit a completed travel journal, and go through their memories by time and their transit trips: exploring what, when, and where?
